Wine Tasting at Winery at Holy Cross Abbey
Taste Colorado wines at The Winery at Holy Cross Abbey, on the grounds of the historic Benedictine abbey on the east side of Canon City.
The Winery at Holy Cross Abbey makes its wines on the grounds of the historic Holy Cross Abbey, founded by Benedictine monks, on US 50 at the east end of Canon City. The monks started the vineyard project, and the winery and tasting room opened to the public in 2002. The tasting room pours its Colorado wines, including Riesling, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc. It is open Monday to Saturday 10 am to 6 pm (to 5 pm January through March) and Sunday noon to 5 pm; last call is 30 minutes before closing. Call 719-276-5191 or check the winery's website for tastings and events.
